What is a Steward?

A steward is someone who manages or looks after something, and Outdoor Stewards of Conservation are the men and women that look after Americas’ natural resources.

For the past century, Hunters, Anglers, and Target Shooters (HATSTM) have been the primary caretakers, and funders, of wildlife and environmental conservation efforts in America.

According to the United States Fish and Wildlife Services’ (USFWS) National Survey of Fishing, Hunting, and Wildlife Associated Recreation report, there are more than 35 million anglers and more than 11 million hunters in America. Additionally, there are approximately 50 million Americans that target shoot each year. In total, there are more than 60 million active HATS in America that spend a combined 700 million+ days outside each year enjoying and caring for nature.

Bottom line is that no other group does more to conserve Americas’ natural resources than HATS and it’s high time they get the credit for what they do.
